7:30 PM
St. Joan of Arc Church
With Kristine and Helen Hass and friends Rick and Ricky Flores, Michelle Laboe, Jack Accardo,
Christian Schulte, George Wietecha and Mary Claire Hass.
A free will offering is appreciated. Tree of Hope foundation offers hope through its efforts in postpartum research and education.
Kristine and Helen Hass decided to do this concert as a way to share some good music with the St. Joan of Arc Parish and the greater community in support of a
foundation they feel has offered an important resource to the area.
Kristine and her husband Richard with their five children are parishioners at St. Joan of Arc. Kristine is the children's choir director and her daughter Helen are both
regular cantors and choir members.
Helen is a recent graduate from Regina High School and will be studying vocal performance at Oakland University in the fall. When asked about the concert, she said,
“This is a nice way for my mom and me to share music with our community and to help with an important cause.”
Kristine Hass has brought together some really fine musicians with whom she has worked (or has wanted to work) with to make a nice band with Michelle Laboe on piano, Jack Accardo, Rick and Ricky Flores on guitar, George Weitecha on drums. Also singing will be Rick and Ricky Flores, Christian Schulte and Kristine's thirteen-year-old daughter Mary Claire Hass.
The group will perform some contemporary Christian music and some other popular songs that ring hope.
The Tree of Hope Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2005 to promote research, education and awareness of postpartum-related mood disorders. The founding memebers of the organization were profoundly impacted by the tragedy of Mary Ellen and Caroline Moffitt, who became victims of this devastation condition.
The Tree of Hope's goal is to proved awareness and education to prevent tragedies for others.
The Tree of Hope Foundation has established solid ties in the community to enact awareness and support for postpartum depression. They have established growing relationships with Beaumont Hospitals, Hurley Hospital, Huron Valley-Sinai, and Henry Ford Health System, including Cottage Hospital.
Tree of Hope helps by:
- Hosting six, free weekly support groups throughout the tri-county area, including Clawson, Commerce Township, West Bloomfield, Rochester Hills and St. Clair Shores.
- Providing literature for ob/gyn and pediatrician offices and for new discharged mothers.
- Hosting continuing education seminars for medical professionals and working with community groups to make assistance more widely available
